Zemanta recommends images, links, tags and articles. We extended articles with social actions from socialactions.com database to provide contextually relevant actions to bloggers while they write. This way they can act on them themselves, or add them to their blog post with a single click and ask their readers to help them with it.

Removing the barriers to finding social actions where one can help and connecting them with topics they are about will help improve of their awaraness and likelihood of people acting on them.

Presentation of these actions is done through Zemanta blogging-add on that adds an extra   pane next to the writing area, providing   recommendations in unobtrusive way.

It's a free Firefox and Internet Explorer extension as well as plugin for stand-alone blogs and for Windows Live Writer and Scribefire. The technology allows easy integration in 12+ blogging platforms, covering most of the English speaking bloggers.

The long tail of thousands of bloggers using Zemanta and their readers will provide a good exposure of social actions to people who are interested in these topics.
