The Cameroon Netsquared Community will be organizing a conference on the 9th of February 2012 in DTCHUKS PALACE HOTEL Molyko Buea, the capital of the South West Region. The event will bring together members from all the local groups in Cameroon, Techies, civil society organizations and local government authorities.

These social actors shall critically analyze the activities of Netsquared in Cameroon, redefine a foundation and put in place a strategic plan of action for 2012-2014.

We recently announced the 5 Winners for the FACT Social Justice Challenge and we are thrilled at the caliber and impact of all the Projects. As such, we want to give you a closer look at these collaborative technology Projects and the people behind them. For the past two years, NetSquared membership has been growing in Cameroon. Today there are 5 groups in Cameroon and this Saturday they are hosting the first ever NetSquared Camp.

NetSquared's local organizers around the world are the real superheroes delivering the global NetSquared's mission on the ground.  Organizers have created groups that provide consistent opportunities for local communities to come together to learn about new technologies that benefit social impact work. Organizers are also stepping up to create events and opportunities for even deeper learning and collaboration around the world.

i-Vission International, the same organization managing the Douala Net Tuesday, is organizing an international colloquium in Douala, Cameroon, for February 19-21, 2009, and is currently calling for papers.  The topic is:  The Impact of Cyber Criminality on the Economy of a Developing Nation.

The deadline to submit an essay is January 19, 2009.  More details below.
