NetSquared teaming up with Sun Microsystems to produce global Hack Days. Sao Paolo, Brazil was a success on October 1, stay tuned for an update. Next up, China!
Thanks to Tantek Çelik for setting up a wiki for us at http://NetSquared.pbwiki.com. I have posted partial chat transcripts there on the N2Y2 page. Here's day 1 and day 2.
I made these transcripts by just copying the log whenever I remembered, so there are some gaps especially at the beginning. Please fill in any bits if you also saved it.
I've set up a free chat room as a lot of folks were having trouble accessing IRC. Please join us at http://wwwl.meebo.com/room/netsquared/
Project Champion and Open Source Advocate-at-Large, Chris Messina (pictured here) has set up a non-IRC, but IRC-like backchannel using PIbb here: http://pibb.com/go/n2y2
You'll need an OpenID, but you can get one from http://myopenid.com.
I just embedded a chat window into the Net Tuesday page, and it took me all of 20 seconds. Serously, that was so easy I still can't believe it!
The makers of Gabbly, that oh-so-easy chat maker that powered the NetSquared remote conference, will be participating in an on- and off-line chat for tonight's Net Tuesday. If you can't join us in person at the Hotel Utah, join us online at 7pm PST by just going to the Net Tuesday page (it may take a few seconds for the chat to load).
In other chat news, there's a new service from an old friend of NetSquared, Meebo (Seth presented at our 2nd Net Tuesday). It's called MeeboMe, and it's the talk of the town. Like Gabbly, MeeboMe is easily embedded into your website. While Meebo is a personal 1-1 chat service and works with a variety of Instant Messengers like AIM, Gabbly creates chat rooms and doesn't require a login. They're very complementary tools, and both free and easy ways to bring a new dimension to your website. Yay free and easy!
Transcripts from our remote conference sessions and hallway chats are now online. You can find transcripts on the remote conference page or on the hallway page -- or just follow the links below.
You can subscribe to RSS feeds of the chat transcripts by pointing to http://feed.gabbly.com/netsquared.org/remote or http://feed.gabbly.com/netsquared.org/hallway That will give you the last 200 messages in the chat room; or if you subscribe to the feed from an aggregator, you'll get ongoing transcripts. (If you're new to RSS, see the RSS resource center on Net2Learn.)
Transcripts from our May 30th remote conference sessions and May 30th hallway chat are now online. You can find transcripts on the remote conference page or on the hallway page -- or just follow the links below.

Hi - If you wanna catch up with WineCmap folks, join us on the Gabbly channel here:
http://gabbly.com/http://www.netsquared.org/WineCamp
(By the way - the link leads to an "Error page" - but the Gabbly system works anyway....)
So several NetSquared sessions are running using Gabbly. That's great for me (believe it or not, I don't have an IRC client at my fingertips), and I also figured out how to create a chat room on the fly for further random conversations. Just set up a Gabbly page on any URL - obviously, you probably want to use a NetSquared URL if talking about this conference. See the example below:
http://gabbly.com/http://www.netsquared.org/smokinggoat
Unfortunatley, Gabbly doesn't seem to support private messages. Any ideas? (Yes, besides, downloading an IRC client.... ;-))
Since I sent out the call yesterday to be a NetSquared Remote Conference Moderator, I have more information about what would be involved.
Check out these links for more info:

We'll be using a super easy, user-friendly chat program called Gabbly.
If you can volunteer 1-2 hours of your time as a moderater on May 30 & 31st from 9 AM-4 PM PDT, lemme know at bbravo AT techsoup.org
We are looking for volunteers to be chat monitors during the remote
NetSquared conference May 30th and 31st to make sure everything runs smoothly. As a monitor, you would be following the chat as it progresses during your hour, keeping conversations on track, and making sure folks are being respectful of one another.
We'll be holding online chats throughout the conference on Gabbly. Gabbly lets you add a chat window to any web page on the Internet, simply by typing "http://www.gabbly.com" in front of any URL. For example, you could chat with other folks reading the NetSquared blog by typing in the URL "http://www.gabbly.com/netsquared.org/blog".
