The winners of the 13th Annual Webby Awards have been announced. The best of the Web awards have been selected in over 100 different categories, which include Website, Interactive, Advertising, Mobile and Film & Video. The winners include those that are academy selected as well as "People's Voice" winners.
In the past week or so, I've had the great pleasure of talking with a few handfuls of brilliant people. They've bestowed their wisdom upon me and you, my fellow NetSquared brethren, and I highlight here five of the sharpest, most apt pieces of advice I've lately heard regarding our livelihoods:
Don't try too hard to crack the code of authenticity. Sometimes reaching out and connecting to "the kids" requires more than constructing a seemingly fail-safe online presence.
"We're really focusing on reaching out to kids," is an expression I am getting used to hearing when talking with outreach coordinators at nonprofits. "We're trying to connect with young people by reaching out to them on the Internet," is often uttered in the same breath. "We're really going to connect with them when we launch our social networking site later this year."
