Last month's Net Tuesday in San Francisco featured Ephrat Bitton of iCare and
Jonathan Thompson of Humanlink talking about how to use the Web for disaster relief.
You can hear recordings of their presentations and their interviews with our Net Tuesday Podcaster, David Collin of FI Space, on the NetSquared Podcast.
Last night's San Francisco Net Tuesday was about Using the Web for Disaster Relief with Ephrat Bitton of iCare and Jonathan Thompson of Humanlink.
iCare's web based application matches disaster survivors' needs with donors' gifts and delivers in-kind donations by tracking surplus space in delivery trucks.
Humanlink works to increase the efficiency of relief teams' Internet communication systems while decreasing their cost. You can read about their work after the March 6th earthquake in West Sumatra Indonesia here.
Both are in need of volunteers. You can contact Jonathan Thompson at humanlink@gmail.com and Ephrat Bitton at iCare.info@gmail.com.
