Don't Get Too Drunk & Mobile Uploads Kill Privacy (see photo): More Conference Do's and Don'ts
Part of keeping abreast with what's going on at the intersection of your organization and connective technologies can be conference-hopping. I see conferences as a necessary, enjoyable evil that are often like magazines in that they feature 40% topical, tangental content and 60% advertising (but unlike magazines, the advertisers/sponsors at a conference often get you drunk). While a conference is often a nice place to hang out and hook up with like-minded folks, all of the "we're so cutting edge" self-congradulation can get a little daunting and stale after a few days.

The GreenerOne Project - our working widget
So we've created a widget for the GreenerOne site that will allow a member to display how many people they've helped make a green decision while shopping for a product.
We mashuped a few technologies to make this happen. The widget is a dynamic image (PNG) generated from a image library to display how many people you've assisted with your reviews.

Looking for that Speical Someone...
Ever since Ask Your Lawmaker (AYL) was chosen to participate in the Net2 Mashup Challenge, we've been honored. Of course its a great thrill just to be nominated, but what we'd really like is to find that right person to help us make the most of this opportunity.
We at AYL have always tried to offer a relevant experience for our users while providing a fun platform for them to participate in democracy. The right Net2 Mashup project leader for us should be sensitive to our ambitions, realize our full growth potential, and not be afraid of reaching for the stars.

Thank you for supporting assetmap.org/uganda
From the Assetmap.org/Uganda team,
Thanks EVERYONE who supported the Assetmap.org/Uganda project. It was inspiring for us to see the number of people who were excited about tools that would let them support community-led development efforts in this remarkable region.Â
While experienced practitioners have long-known that the most impacting, sustainable development efforts are those led by local communities, its only been in the last few years that average citizens around the world have begun to have the resources they need to support these efforts. We believe with your support, Assetmap.org/Uganda can provide a vital toolset to support post-conflict rebuilding in Uganda.Â

Gather momentum. Learn.
I just submitted my Mashup Challenge entry. It's called Honoring Historymakers & Storytellers. Please check it out and let me know if something is unclear.
It's both a search tool (for personal stories, and for organizations/campaigns that seek storytellers), as well as a way to respect our storytellers.
HOW I GOT THE IDEA (below the jump)
Mashup Challenge
Hello, world!
I just learned about the Mashup Challenge a couple days ago but already have a dozen ideas that I have to narrow down to one, well-presented execution. Keep your eye out for me, folks, because The Idea will be posted soon.
