Nokia’s Calling All Innovators contest is a global developer competition that challenges developers to create applications and services that will enhance the use of mobile devices in real-world scenarios.
The competition is open in the following three categories:
MobileActive.org recently put out word about a relaunch, which promises to include "a comprehensive set of databases of mobile applications, case studies, research on mobiles for social impact, and — yes, mobile data by country (and by operator if we can get our hands on it)."

There's ony one more day to vote for your favorite project proposals from the UC Berkeley Human Rights Center Mobile Challenge!
Every single one of the projects has an element (or many elements, for that matter) of intrige, thoughtfulness, and/or just-plain-cool packed into them and half the fun of voting is simply getting a lay of the land of just what's going on in the world of mobile tech development for good.Â
Since there are only two days left to submit project proposals to the UC Berkeley Human Rights Center Mobile Challenge, we briefly spoke with Phuong Pham (again), Director of Research and one of the Principal Investigators of Advancing New Technologies for Justice at UC Berkeley, about human rights and mobile tech.
