Building community in your area? Check out the newly-launched Community Organizers Handbook! Everything you need to start and grow a NetSquared Local group or any other community-powered program.
I recently wrote this post about a new book called Digital Activism Decoded and followed up with editor Mary Joyce to learn more. Read the full interview below.
About the book:
I am the co-founder of two related non-profit start-up organizations: Slurve and the Concerned Citizens Coalition. We came to Net2 because we're looking for like-minded individuals to become part of our team and help us build the web infrastructure that will allow our ideas to reach their potential. And we really believe our ideas have a lot of potential.
Here is a quick overview of the two organizations:
I'm feeling the need for a semantic discussion on what exactly is activism vs. other types of change methods.
Saybrook Graduate School has $20,000 in Community Leadership Scholarships for new M.A. or Ph.D. students with outstanding leadership in community service, social engagement, advocacy, activism, or outstanding professional practice. The renewable awards are applicable toward Saybrook’s degree programs of Psychology, Organizational Systems or Human Science.
I’m new to the NetSquared community, having joined after learning about the NetSquared Innovation Award. My good friend Charles Forsythe and I submitted our social networking project, called Throngz.
Charles is a software developer from way back. If you’re into vintage computer games, you might have seen or played Tower of Fear, one of his very early creations.
