WCDP and Social Networking

It has been a while since I have posted on the WCDP blog.  This is a way of provding an update and informing about the projects we have been working on.

We have, for the past 4 years, been providing micro credit loans to women in Uganda.  Currently we have provided nearly $10,000 in loans to almost 100 women over the course of 7 loan cycles.  We have had over 99% of the loans repaid without default.

Featured Project Update: NewsTrust

NewsTrust is a N2Y2 Featured Project that was created as a free online social news network to help people find and share good journalism. Three years later, NewsTrust is still helping people make more informed decisions through journalism and offers an integrated online service which includes a news filter, media literacy tools and a civic engagement network.

Featured Project Update: Digital Democracy

We started this with, well, if you've been around for a while you remember the first version of this site. And in the labs here, we've been working hard to make our vision real -- a community coming together to share knowledge, build solutions and connect with one another.  As I look around, it feels like it's starting to happen.
