New Social Portal for Blood Donation: Thank Your Donor

We've developed a new social portal that allows blood recipients to say thanks to their unknown donors. Thank Your Donor gives a chance for people to hear all the positive effects that their blood donations are having.

We're hoping this will encourage more people to donate!

Check out one of the videos that a recipient made to say thanks:

Youtube Channel

NetSuite Product Donation Program

Hello all! Thought the community might be interested in this donation opportunity (disclosure: I run the philanthropy program at NetSuite)

NetSuite has launched a pilot program to donate NetSuite software and NetSuite employee volunteer assistance to charities and for-profit firms that generate positive social impact. NetSuite (www.netsuite.com/giving) is a public company with over 5,400 customers-- you might have seen NetSuite in the news recently for our Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

Helping Developers Help Nonprofits: The PayPal Developer Donation Kit

Chris Locke sent me an interesting link over the holidays to the PayPal Developer Donation Kit. According to the site, the Kit helps developers set up PayPal for nonprofits by providing them with:

• Integration instructions

• Marketing materials – PayPal for Non-Profit Fundraising and Non-Profit FAQs

• Information about PayPal's special offer for nonprofits

Interestingly, there isn't much buzz about this at all online. When I Googled, "PayPal Developer Donation Kit," the only people writing about it was the San Jose Neighborhood Chamber of Commerce. They have a Neighborhood Chamber of Commerce Certified Official Webmaster Community:

He put a percentage of his weekly blogging income into buying chickens and invited his readers to contribute as well. Readers could give in one of two ways: donate to Oxfam Australia directly, and send Darren an e-card during the purchasing process to let him know how many chickens they had purchased, or send him a donation via PayPal with a note saying that it was for the "chickens project."
