I am a hope shelterer. As a management and marketing consultant to social entrepreneurs I focus on sustainability, both as an issue and as a philosophy. My current projects include the Black Rock Arts Foundation’s ScrapEden and managing the large-scale green public art project Mechabolic (NYT article). Past projects include directing ScrapHouse, audience development and sales strategy for Copia, earned revenue strategy for Computer Using Educators, and growth strategy for Teachade. I’m on a hunt for the interest-based online social network that makes changing the world much faster and am pleased to be here as WiserEarth’s champion.

OK, I just figured out that as a champion I need to follow my project into all three rooms. I didn't realize that they had to cycle through all three. So much for my plan to hunker down in one room with my laptop. ;-)

I still don't totally grok this format, but I will follow along...

I'll be getting up veeery early tomorrow morning to head west for the second annual NetSquared conference-thingy. Last year's event had a profound effect on me. It's where I first started using Second Life , and it's where I had the opportunity to deepen my relationship with the brilliant Micah Sifry which led to my eventual involvement in techPresident and the Personal Democracy Forum.

We are really excited about attending the Net2 Conference this year, especially as we are Project Champions for Kabissa 2.0 and Open Source Open Standards Video.

These two projects are right up our alley as they are all about growing and helping communities, Web 2.0 and open source. We can't wait to dive right in!

Boy it’s great to be heading back to the Cisco campus for N2Y2! I’m Sean Stannard-Stockton, author of the Tactical Philanthropy blog and director of tactical philanthropy at Ensemble Capital. You can get a sense for who I am from reading my bio. But I’m more interested in giving you all a chance to hear directly from Daniel Ben-Horin. To that end, I just posted a podcast I recorded with Daniel last week. We talk about the vision behind NetSquared and the usefulness of “wisdom of crowd” techniques for nonprofits and philanthropy.

I’m also the project champion for Innovatorz. They have an awesome storytelling model. Since I first took on the project, I’ve introduced them to a former president of Community Foundations of America, head of media relations for Council on Foundations and the executive director of a foundation communications firm. They were universally impressed with the Innovatorz model. I’m sure that whether Innovatorz wins or not, you’ll be seeing their work a lot in the coming year.

I'm Seth Mazow, project champion for Maps2.0 and self-delegated NetSquared groupie. The NetSquared people and resources have taught me a lot over the past 18 months, and I'm thrilled to be giving back in the role of project champion. I only wish I could do it for more than one project!

I currently do communications and tech stuff for Interplast, but I'm leaving in a couple weeks to see what the world has to offer (and what I can offer the world) from outside the confines of a cubicle in silicon valley.

David Sasaki will be a Project Champion for Yankana.org.

After working for two years as Regional Editor of Latin America for Global Voices, he is now directing their new outreach initiative which aims to encourage the use of self-publishing tools like weblogs and podcasts among underrepresented communities around the world. He is currently based in Oakland, California and enjoys reading, writing, and laughing with old and new friends as much as possible.
