The socialmedai4change wiki is a community wiki of examples of how nonprofits and social change makers are using social networks for social change. It has examples of how people are using:

About two months ago, a small group of you participated in a short poll about the #1 reason you read the NetSquared Blog. Almost half of you said it was to read about, "Case Studies of Nonprofits Using the Social Web."

I'd love to hear more about the kind of information you are looking for. Do you want . . .

Stories about how a social web tool was used as part of an organization's campaign?

Stories about how to convince reluctant team members to try social web tools?

Stories about how to use online tools to inspire offline action?

Stories about using the social web to build community?

Rochelle specializes in online advocacy using technology for positive change in public consciousness, law, and social policy.

One of the cool things on her site is a link to Social Change Websites, a directory of nonprofit, grassroots and advocacy campaign web sites. The site is Rochelle's brainchild.

You can submit your social change web site here.
Case studies map updated

I've just updated the Net Squared case studies map on CommunityWalk and there are many more case studies of groups in Africa now! It's exciting to see where so many innovative nonprofits are located on a dynamic Google Map. I hope you'll check it out in case opportunity arises to refer to in place-based conversations about Net Squared.

Come on over to the Net2Builder Group and join the Net2 in Action Writing & Research Team.

We are assembling a Net2 in Action Writing & Research Team to help us document examples of how the social web can be used for social change in the NetSquared in Action section of the site.

We are looking for:

2 Net2 in Action Team members to write up profiles from a growing list of nonprofits from all over the country and the world that are successfully using the social web to further their missions.

Using Community Walk to Visualize Our Case Studies

The Net Squared in Action section of this site is an inspiring set of profiles written about non-profit inovators and their work with new web tools. One of those case studies is a mapping tool called Community Walk, a tool that uses Google Maps to alow users to create their own maps of any community of interest or other set of geographic locations. I thought it would only make sense to use Community Walk in some way regarding the list of groups profiled in the Net Squared case studies.
