Over fifty people showed up for Net Tuesday San Francisco on July 8th. Our topic was, Mobilizing Generation 2.0: How Nonprofits Can Use Technology to Engage Youth, and the speakers were Ben Rigby, the Founder and Co-Executive Director of Mobile Voter, and the author of Mobilizing Generation 2.0, and Deb Levine, Founder of I.S.I.S., Inc. (Internet Sexuality Information Services). Audio recordings of both presentations will be available in a few weeks on the NetSquared Podcast. Our next Net Tuesday San Francisco will be on August 12th with Tara Kirchner of Flickr for Good. Below are my notes from the event.

N2Y3Con: Net Tuesday Organizer Lunch

At lunch today, during the NetSquared Conference, 17 Net Tuesday organizers from 12 of the 16 Net Tuesdays met face-to-face for the first time.

Net Tuesdays are local monthly meetups for folks to get together, share resources, network, and have fun! You can look and see if there is a Net Tuesday near you on the NetSquared Meetup Alliance. First Net Tuesday in Twin Cities

We had the first Net Tuesday meeting in the Twin Cities last night. It was great, had quite a few attendees, and a lot of us got to meet each other and talk about what we're doing. I'm looking forward to many more.

Last night was the April Net Tuesday here in Portland. We had Heather Cronk with us from PledgeBank to talk about online campaign building (both with PB and the general topic). It was quite a lively discussion, answering questions and leaving participants with others to think about in their organizations.

Last night, the Chicago NetTuesday group held its first gathering. About 30 folks met at The Point (thanks Aaron, Andrew, Joe, and Greg!) for food, networking, and an eye-opening discussion about the tech needs and challenges of non-profits. The organizations represented were diverse - advocacy orgs, media trainers, consultants, social service agencies, youth orgs, community dev corps, and more. After a short discussion (next time we’ll leave more time for this), informal networking carried on until nearly 9pm. Co-covener Michael Maranda also blogged about the meeting.
