Last month's Net Tuesday San Francisco featured Nikki Serapio, the Director of Community Marketing for Involver, talking about how nonprofits can use Involver to create a video campaign for social networks. Chirag Shah, Special Projects Manager for Kiva.org, also spoke about Kiva's experience using Involver.

SF Halloween Festival needs a website, now!

The San Francisco Halloween Festival committee has enjoyed an organic community growth around the planning process for the city's October 31st celebration, but now needs help making a website. Following the closure of Castro Street last year for the annual celebration, the SF Halloween Festival committee plans to bring together all ages, all cultures, and people from SF and around the world in both free and ticketed activities and celebrations all afternoon and evening in Lot A, next to SF Giants AT&T Ballpark, and Terry Francois Boulevard.

August 12th Net Tuesday SF: Flickr for Good

For those of you who live in the San Francisco Bay Area, our next Net Tuesday San Francisco will be on August 12th and feature Tara Kirchner, Senior Marketing Manager for Yahoo! Inc.

Tara will talk about how nonprofits can use the Flickr for Good program. Flickr for Good (in partnership with TechSoup) will donate 10,000 Flickr Pro accounts to be distributed to qualifying nonprofits in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Hong Kong.

Over fifty people showed up for Net Tuesday San Francisco on July 8th. Our topic was, Mobilizing Generation 2.0: How Nonprofits Can Use Technology to Engage Youth, and the speakers were Ben Rigby, the Founder and Co-Executive Director of Mobile Voter, and the author of Mobilizing Generation 2.0, and Deb Levine, Founder of I.S.I.S., Inc. (Internet Sexuality Information Services). Audio recordings of both presentations will be available in a few weeks on the NetSquared Podcast. Our next Net Tuesday San Francisco will be on August 12th with Tara Kirchner of Flickr for Good. Below are my notes from the event.

Bay Area Drupal for Good Group Forming

For the past couple weeks there has been a long discussion thread happening on the Net Tuesday San Francisco Meetup list serv about people wanting to form a Drupal for Good group in the Bay Area.

Joshua Wiese set up a Drupal for Good San Francisco Bay Area Google group to help get it organized. You can join the group by clicking here, and anyone can view any of the group's activity, without joining, by clicking here.
