The Idea:

What will change in the world because this Project happens?

Community members will gain a clear picture of the planning initiatives underway in their neighborhoods and communities which will enable them to participate in planning and zoning decisions in a timely and meaningful way.

What information will people interact with to make this change?

Planning and Zoning agenda items will be mapped on an internet map and included in the Channel 17/ Town Meeting in order to show a picture of what proposals are on the table in local communities. The visual information will be accompanied by links to more detailed proposals and resources. A widget will be developed to link this to local town/city/ regional planning sites.

What else have you done in this Cause Area?

We operate a government access cable TV channel in that serves Burlington VT and surrounding communities. We air planning and zoning meetings and work closely with local communities to increase public involvement in decisions that affect them.
