NetSquared is focused on the intersection of technology and social impact. We create opportunities for all those involved in creating change to connect: whether you are a nonprofit or a foundation, a designer or a developer, a changemaker or an entrepreneur.

What?

NetSquared's work at the intersection of technology and social impact takes shape in three main ways:

1. Online Community: The Netsquared platform has a Community Blog open to any registered user to contribute his/her ideas, projects, lessons learned or other information about working in technology and social change.
2. Offline Community: Through NetSquared Local events we support volunteer organizers around the world who convene local community events as consistent opportunities for gathering, sharing, learning and collaborating at a local level.
3. Open Innovation Challenges: NetSquared Challenges and Partner Challenges call for ideas from around the world for new technologies, applications and mashups that make social impact; and Projects submitted to the Project Gallery can be edited, updated, deleted and shared by the user, creating a rich directory of innovation project ideas.

Why?

At NetSquared, we recognize that social change is imminent and believe that social technologies are key to success. NetSquared works by mobilizing individuals and communities to share and build innovative technologies for real world impact.

NetSquared - an initiative of nonprofit TechSoup Global - has worked internationally since 2005. In that time we've:

• Fostered monthly face-to-face meetups for social innovators in 80+ cities around the globe and growing
• Incubated hundreds of social action projects in various stages of development
• Awarded over $370,000 in financial support through prized-based Challenges
• Provided a platform for cross-sector collaboration
• And much, much more

Who?

Well, it's not just us. Not by a long shot. While the NetSquared Team organizes and facilitates ongoing prize-based Open Innovation Challenges, offline monthly events and conferences to help propel the field forward, the heart of our work is rooted in NetSquared's Community of social innovators which includes business leaders, engineers, activists, nonprofit organizations and others - and that Community has developed organically over time.
