The project is about publishing user configured information on a map using Yahoo Pipes.
First, the user clones the pipe provided by the project. Then he enters some basic query data that retrieve actions through the social actions API. Running the pipe achieves two things: the locations of the action (if such information is available) are extracted and map on a yahoo map. Optionaly one can save the retrieved data as KML (functionality provided by Yahoo Pipes) and use it in Google Earth or Google Maps.
There is also a stripped version of the pipe without the map data, which can be used to display configurable dynamic action information on Wordpress.com blogs in the form of RSS widgets. Wordpress.com blog do not have currently the ability to display javascript, iframe of flash widget, so the RSS widget is the only option. This makes the widget available to 7mio blogs. The map is easy to use and can be imported in the form of a "Badge" in all the known blogging platforms and any website.
Project sources are, by their nature, open and free to use as you like.

wheres the map? ... i just see 3 rss items in the yahoo pipes feed.
Depends on the query
The pipe is utilizing the location extractor module. If in the social actions returned by the query there are enough information for the locator to work, a map is produced. Otherwise, you just get the feed. Try 'wate' instead of the default 'water+climate' and you will see.
